Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
My Source docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may overlook.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. In addition, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved such as table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It has many features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a good method to keep your home clean for longer.
There's a plethora of options available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
